The Toothless Carnivore

That last lonely degradation into death.
Sorrow folded within vicious passions,
No one coping with the loss still unfolding.
A ripe melon still only a day too aged,
But with the bruise and softness already apparent.
WE all await that collapse which will come,
Showing no promise--only internal decay,
One hoping only that it will end quickly.
