Fight No More by Can Berkol
Fight No More
We are wild in nature. No matter how civilized or how mature we act, all it takes is the revival of our instincts of survival for us to lose control over ourselves.
I can’t say if it’s bad… but … whether the cat or the man; we are all destined to be predators; sad, lonely predators.
We fight for food, for love, for pride, for power, and of course we always lose the fight.
We lose all the time, because every time we win, we actually lose interest, we lose focus, and we forget the purpose of our acts.
The calmest, the most mature moments are the ones after we win the fights, because only then we have no other purpose to serve and we have enough time to really question ourselves – because only then we are half bleeding all alone and because only then we are in need of some company.
It’s a recursive act. We look for some company, then we find it, and then we are unable to share the resources we have; and then we fight each other for those resources, and then we win the fight; :) and then we realize we are all alone again until we find some other company…
With every fight we win, we lose a part of ourselves until we realize that there is nothing more to lose. At the end we fight one last war… this time we fight to death. Eventually we all pass away all alone. Yes we all die alone, because no one will know what our real identities are.
If you think I am wrong, be honest to yourself and make a quick list of the little dirty non-harmful secrets that no one else knows about your personality that even you have forgotten for long time – the little details that built up your character, your self, your ego…
After every battle, we start all over again with more lies. I think, this is why we settle down even further with every fight we experience. Our heads get busier with the analysis of the rights and wrongs that we have made each time. We hide our wrongs. We do not admit them nor stop doing them. Every day we carry on with added burden, added stress…..
