Through the Eyes of a Photographer by Can Berkol
Interrogation
The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking.
Brooks Anderson, 1951, "Once Around the Sun"
Photography kept me looking all my life... What is in me? Who am I? What is it that I seek for?...You?
From the very first day that I took my first very own photo in 1996 - in Audubon Zoo, New Orleans - to present, I am interrogating my self and my surrounding.
No, I am not pursuing a dream about figuring the real meaning of life. I am, however, seeking the meaning of life for me. What do I enjoy, what do I hesitate?
No, - actually - I still do not know what is it I am looking for. Interrogation still continues... One day I will find an answer and set my soul free.

Notes
It was a dark and a cloudy evening. I was standing on top of stairs and my model is standing few steps lower than where I stand. He was taking my picture and I had my camera leveled up around my belly, and in the mean time I was taking his photo.
